When it comes to AI, what are you most confused about?

How to apply it to my own work
5
  • How to use as my assistant.
  • I'm not confused so much as I haven't found many applications for my workflow.
  • The truth is, I don't know enough about AI to know what I'm most confused about.
  • Its capabilities mostly. I may be missing out on useful things.
  • Less confusion and more ignorance about how I can better leverage it.
Integration with tools, apps, and local files
3
  • The leap from using it in the app in more or less chat mode (with some generative work) itself to letting it run on my computer with my files, etc. I'm also confused about Skills.
  • How it can integrate with various systems and platforms and best prompts to use.
  • Integration into other apps like outlook, word, drive, etc.
Privacy and data
2
  • How much data we can use, privacy.
  • The proper prompts to use. Privacy risks.
Risk, accountability, over-reliance
1
  • Worry about making mistakes, AI taking over too much, accountability gaps, and the erosion of critical thinking.
Not much
1
  • Not really much. It seems very versatile in its uses.

What's the most personally exciting thing you did with AI?

Document and output generation
3
  • Generated a comprehensive brief on a potential opportunity based on only a paragraph of my input.
  • Streamlining the report-preparing process.
  • Leveraged AI to make a stronger presentation.
Spreadsheet work
2
  • I had it reorganize a spreadsheet for me and I was able to revise it several times with new detail requests.
  • Had Excel synthesize a spreadsheet, saving me hours of work.
Integration setup (Outlook, calendar)
2
  • Integration with outlook calendar.
  • Add it to my outlook.
Discussion, coaching, panel prep
2
  • Coaching.
  • I was on a panel. AI helped me formulate the discussion.
Website or template generation
1
  • Generating a website template.
Nothing yet
2
  • Nothing really.
  • n/a

Any concerns or reservations about integrating AI into the org?

Privacy and data security
4
  • Just your average security concerns.
  • Privacy.
  • Privacy issues.
  • I don't trust that our data is safe with AI.
Deskilling, over-reliance, replacement
3
  • I am training a computer to become my replacement.
  • Making people think less, be less creative and proactive, and more reliant on AI.
  • Fear-based reluctance among team members, surfaced by Henry in the 5/29 planning call.
No major concerns
3
  • No.
  • Not really.
  • Not really, as long as we are transparent about how AI is being used.
Emotionless responses in relationship-driven work
1
  • Yes, very much so, especially as it relates to emotionless responses in a very relationship-oriented global company.
General reservations about AI
1
  • I have reservations about AI in general, less about the specifics of our work.

Anything else?

Even considering the above, I have really enjoyed using Claude in a limited but incredibly useful way. Mostly having it produce new spreadsheets from raw data, or from my older work.
I really want to learn how to get Claude to review my inbox and send me a morning briefing of priority items that need responses.
