The projects that get the most value out of Uncommon Places Design involve a real moment with stakes, a leader who participates personally and actively, and direct access to the people involved.
This generally looks like a time-bound gathering, like an offsite or training series, during a charged situation: a leadership transition, new hires taking on a demanding organizational mandate, a team coming back together after real disruption, new external demands, a conflict that's become costly for the organization to sidestep.
Some clients are consultancies who bring me in as a design partner on their own engagements. Consistently, the leaders I work with are in the room themselves, working alongside their people.
